The Glass Pond Studio

News as of July 25, 2007

I have added 11 new sets of earrings to the Birdcage Collection and a new necklace to the Sun Dress Collection. Check them out!

And summer has arrived so it's time to get out of the studio and enjoy the outdoors. Of course, I took my camera, so I'll share.

The studio soaks up the July sunshine. The blue berries  in the backyard are ripening.

This is the suspension bridge at Tolt McDonald Park in the town of Carnation, Washington. It spans the Snoqualmie River. For years our family has walked across this bridge, maybe to watch the salmon spawn, maybe to watch the river rafters, maybe to just get to the other side. I have had a phobia about this bridge and can not walk across it without holding onto the railing or onto one of my kids. GUESS WHAT????????????????? Today I went down to the park and walked all the way across with out holding onto anything for the first time ever. I am soooo excited about this. You can't imagine...made my day.

My first ever step onto the suspension bridge by myself. I had to document that. I know it's not very interesting, but I had to get a photo and those are my new Nikes. The next photo will be more interesting. You'll see what the bridge slats look like.

These are the bridge slats! While you walk, you look down to the river and that is why I haven't been able to cross it alone. The movement of the water below scares me. I took this photo with my eyes shut because I couldn't look down. I think it's a pretty good photo considering my eyes were closed...

Well, the clouds came out for awhile on this sunny day. This is the view from the bridge to the north. If the sun had stayed out you would be able to see Mt Baker above that ridge.

Okay, now it looks like it is going to pour down rain. This is the view to the south. This bridge is the car bridge across the valley and up the hill. The higher steel on the left side is the new bridge under construction. The sun came out about 3 minutes later, but I had to get off the bridge fast...

These are the old cabins across the suspension bridge. You can camp in these. They are awesome. They are backed up against the hillside in the woods.

These are the new yurts across the suspension bridge. They are pretty close together, but the new sign says they will mostly be used for group camping.

The new yurts, but not quite ready to be camped in.

News and Update to the Kampala opal story
July 11, 2007

There are 2 new collections added to my jewelry; the Fused Glass Collection - spectacular selection of pendants, and the Sun Dress Collection of necklaces perfect for that summer look.

Also watch for the new Equestrian Collection that should be on the site by the first week of August.

I have been very busy and I have added 15 new earrings to the Birdcage Collection, so check those out.

I'm sure you can tell from my news below about the beautiful Kampala African opals that I'm in love with them. I also want to support the people where these opals come from. So I am donating 10% of order for the Kampala necklaces in the Meridian Collection to Africare. You can read about there work at www.africare.org.

If you want to see some of my jewelry and be able to handle it, many items from the Mardis Gras Collection can be seen at Miller's in downtown Carnation, Washington.

Some of the Tribal Collection can be seen at Timber Creek on the Redmond-Fall City Highway (SR-202) near Ames Lake east of Redmond, Washington.

Also, if you're going to the Evergreen Classic Horse Show at Remlinger Farms Equestrian Park in Carnation, look for the horse trainer necklaces at the Snoqualmie Booth, August 8-11, 2007.

And in spring of 2008 look for the tulip pendants in La Conner.
