The Meridian Collection is comprised of deep, rich earth tones. Many of
the gemstones I use are mined in Brazil, Africa, Australia and Mexico.
All of the Meridian pieces are made with sterling silver, bali or Thai
silver. Indonesia is one of the main centers of the world for metal
crafting, and Balinese smiths are often descendants of families who have
worked silver and other metals for centuries. Many of my Bali beads come
from a village called Celuk. Specialties of Bali crafts people include
spheres of silver that are arranged in beautiful intricate geometric
patterns.
The hill tribes of Northern Thailand are also outstanding metal
crafters. Karen Hill tribe, a nomadic tribe, uses melted Burmese silver
coins to create jewelry. All of their work is hand hammered. They also
make beautiful pendants, and you will find several of those pendants in
my fairy collection
The word meridian has many definitions, the most common being of the
north or south pole. Meridian also means the highest point of splendor,
prosperity and power. I hope you wear a piece of the collection and
achieve all three!

Aloha

|
I would like to get this when I get off a plane in Hawaii. Aloha
is 2 strands of dark and light green Chrysophase. The stones
have some black striations in them which adds a lot of depth to
the green hues. Pretty tiny pink agates are used as spacers.
Long karen hill tribe hand stamped beads and shorter hand
stamped flower hill tribe beads are also blended into Aloha. And
another karen hill tribe pendant, this one a rose, is the focal
point.
Aloha is 17 inches long and the 2 strands lay perfectly
together, in graduated lengths. It closes with a hill tribe
toggle. |

Borneo by the Sea

|
In Borneo by the Sea I have used combinations of bali silver and
karen hill silver. 2 strands of purple agate and Chinese
turquoise mix with large detailed bali beads and hand rolled
hill tribe silver rounds. I have wire wrapped 2 long bali silver
pieces to 2 karen hill hammered rounds. The longer strand has
the 2 turquoise drops on it and the shorter strand has the
longer silver hill tribe drops. The longer drops hang gently
right over the smaller ones and give it a very dramatic,
different sense of depth. I really like the blues, purples and
silvers of this necklace. I think it has a very dreamy, soft
effect, while the colors are very cool toned.
Borneo by the Sea is only 17" long and is almost more a choker
size, but not quite. This allows the drops, which are 3 inches
long, to hang very nicely! It is finished with a hill tribe
toggle. This piece is a bit pricier, but that is due to all the
silver! |

Cinderella

|
I love to create 2 stranded gemstone necklaces that show off the
beautifully crafted hill tribe pendants. This is one of my

lays beautifully below the bottom strand. It's really a very
pretty piece.

stand is slightly shorter so that it lays right above the lower
one. The necklace closes with a hook clasp. |

so you can lengthen it. |

Karen hill tribe silver is becoming more and popular around the
world. The artists are nomadic silversmiths from Thailand. You
can search hill tribe silver and actually discover there are a
few other nomadic silversmith tribes in the hills of Northern
Thailand, but presently, only the karen tribe is marketing their
art outside of Asia. |

Lampworked beads are created by melting glass rods in a flame
and then rolling the glass, in and out of the flame, on a
mandrel
The first lampworked beads were created by ancient monks who
heated the glass in the flame of an oil lamp. Today, lampwork
artists create their beads with very hot oxygen and propane
torches. You will see my own lampworked beads in several of my
