The Fused Glass Collection
New Collection as of July 11, 2007
These are my new fused glass pendants. Be sure to watch my glass pond
news section because, soon I will give you more information about them.
My fused glass pendants are either layered dichroic glass or flat glass.
They are all fused in my kiln (which is the best thing I ever bought!).
After they are fused, I fire polish them (which makes them brilliant in
color!) at least three times. The silver plate bails are attached with a
double liquid adhesive. I am currently working on making matching glass
beads in my torch, but just haven't come up with the right colors. I
want to make the pendants available to customers who may want to string
the pendants on matching silk cords. Once I get the bead colors right, I
will make whole necklaces with the pendants attached.

This pendant is called Over the Rainbow. |

Beneath the Sea

These pendants are very hard to photograph. The
camera light reflects so much. The colors are true though. Lots
of blue and pinks. |

Copper Nights

|
This is so rich in color. It is pretty much how
you see it, with deep, deep copper layers and midnight blues
mixed in here and there. I am trying to make copper colored
glass beads to match this pendant, but it would be lovely on a
dark blue silk cord. |

Arabian Nights

|
The colors in this pendant are rich from being
fire polished 4 times. Fire polishing means bringing a fused
glass item to a high heat for an extended period of time and
then slowly dropping the temperature and holding at an even heat
for about 4 hours. It is time consuming, but the end products
are so magnificent in color. Some glass artists might say it
isn't time consuming, especially if they have a digital kiln.
ME? I have an old even heat hot box that I love, because I can
control it and it does not control me. But it does mean I have
to sit by it a lot and baby-sit...Lots of deep dark lavender and
purple and green in this one. I am trying to get a pinkish
purplish colored glass bead made in my torch to complement this
pendant. |

Silver Lining

|
This pendant is very hard to see. I am going to
try and rephotograph it, but am going to let you look at it
anyway. It is really deep, dark blue, as you see. The bottom is
silver, just as it shows. So, maybe the photo isn't all that
bad? I will still try it in a different light. The blues are
very crinkly or wavy which is a common plus with dichroic glass.
The base is solid black so it just helps the other colors pop
right out at you. |

Deep Dive

|
I really love this one. As you can see, the
bail is not attached in this photo. I like to use silver plated
bails, but occasionally I have sold a fused pendant to someone
who wanted sterling silver. Once I attach a bail, it isn't ever
coming off, so I have decided to leave the bails off from now on
and if you would like sterling silver, let me know, just
remember the cost of adding on $16.00 (which is the cost of a
sterling silver bail). This pendant makes me think of something
you might see in a snorkeling or scuba dive. I will have to tell
you about my snorkeling experience in the Caribbean. That's a
good story. Watch for it my news about fused glass pendants. $25 |

Pink Shell

|
I don't know, I have may have to try for
another photo! This is a small pink and gold and blue and silver
dichroic pendant. It is brilliant. I would love to be walking on
the beach and just find something so shiny and pretty laying
there. Like a shiny pink shell. That would be nice. $15 |

Eye of the Tiger

|
This is a beautiful fused glass pendant. It
started out long and rectangular shaped and I fused it 4 times
in my kiln or hotbox as I call it. Hot glass naturally flows and
spreads out and after many hot hours, this is how it came to be.
I have strung the necklace with deep blue cathedral glass rounds
and brown glass beads. It has a Balinese S hook. |
