I am continuing to work on my 'Mexican Window' pendant collection. It is
my interpretation of beautiful windows on Alamos streets and I hope
you'll enjoy looking at them.
Also, I am going to begin showing you a new collection, 'Las Puertas de
Santa Fe'.
If you have been to the good2go2mexico blog then you know that Santa Fe
has a special place in my heart. It is the town where my husband and I
met in the early 1970's. It is a very magical town and although it has
grown into a rather large town now, years later it still has a very
quiet, charming atmosphere that says, "slow down and sit at the plaza
for the afternoon.......".
If you have been to the blog, you also know about my fascination with
doors and gates and windows, which is really how the 'Mexican Window'
collection began.
Las Puertas de Santa Fe or the Doors of Santa Fe is another
representation. Some pendants have two doors, some have one, some are
clear and sparkling, some are old and rough while others just beg you to
open them up so you can see what is behind.

Galisteo Street
 |
Galisteo Street is busy with businesses,
galleries and shops. But as you get farther away from the plaza
and look closely, beyond the thick, lush cottonwoods along the
street, you will see this beautiful bright door. Sparkling in
the evening sun, the single door, with a wrought iron grill,
opens onto a pebble strewn courtyard filled with apricot trees
and bancos (benches) draped in Navajo weavings.
Galisteo is 1 1/2 x 1 1/8 and is shown with a sterling silver
plated bail. It is layered on a clear green base.
If you would prefer a handmade PMC pure silver bail, it is an
additional $15. |

De Vargas Street
 |
De Vargas Street, a quiet little street, a few
blocks from town, old haciendas are hidden by overgrown
cottonwoods and lavender lilac bushes.
Old grey stucco walls surround this double Santa Fe door. Orange
window lights let in the golden afternoon sun. The double doors
open inward and a paved walkway leads to a sparkling pool of
blue, surrounded by bright red geraniums flowing from colorful
pueblo pots.
De Vargas is 2 x 1 1/2 and layered on a clear deep blue base. It
is priced with the sterling silver plate bail in the photo. If
you would like a handmade PMC bail, the cost is an additional
$15. |

Bishop's Lodge Road
 |
Bishop's Lodge Road is green valleys and hills
and lush vegetation. The Bishop's Lodge Road dichroic pendant is
2 x 1 1/4 and layered on a clear sea blue base.
The Bishop's Lodge Road door is very narrow, a single clear
glass door with an old strip of blue wood in the center. Thin
orange window lights sparkle and emerald and piney green trim
makes the door very inviting.
The price increases by $15 if you should choose a handmade PMC
bail. The bail shown in the photo is a sterling silver plate
bail. |

Agua Fria Street translates to 'cold water
street'.
Agua Fria pendant has a sparkling colored glass door with
beautiful transparent red side window lights. Its trim is
emerald green.
It measures 1 1/8 x 2 1/8 and is layered on a clear red base.
It is shown with a sterling silver plate bail, and is annealed
and fire polished.

Canyon Road
 |
Canyon Road in Santa Fe, a twisting, winding
uphill road that captures ancient doors and windows and gates on
both sides.
Canyon Road pendant represents an old door in a home on upper
Canyon Road. The rich red and copper hued double door opens
inward to a beautiful garden rich with lavendar lilacs, orange
lantana and trumpet vines. A cascading old stone fountain,
filled with floating lillies, invites you to come in and sit for
awhile................
Canyon Road is 2 1/2 x 1 1/2 and is layered on a clear red base.
The doors are textured, not smooth but slightly rough. The glass
is annealed and fire polished, so while there is texture, it is
not sharp. It is like very fine sandpaper. The rest of the
pendant is smooth.
Canyon Road is shown in the photos with a sterling silver plated
bail. A handmade .999 pure PMC fine silver bail is also
available as a substitute. If you choose my PMC bail, there is a
$15 increase in the price. Please contact me if you want the
pure silver bail. |

Acequia Madre
 |
This blue scalloped door is trimmed in
shimmering yellow sunlight and dark blues. It opens directly
into a small sala, or living room. Beautiful colors of orange,
yellow and sand splash the walls inside where a comfortable red
linen sofa invites you to sit for awhile. A rough wooden table,
adorned with books of the southwest, has a cup of chamomile tea
set for you. A soft white Persian cat crawls up in your lap and
the sweet smell of jasmine drifts in through an open window
right before you doze off for the afternoon.
Acequia Madre is 1 1/4 x 1 3/4 and layered on a green base. It
comes with the sterling silver plated bail that is seen in the
photo. |

Cerrillos Road
 |
Old cottonwood trees are lush in Santa Fe. They
mix quietly with lavender and white lilac bushes and offer shade
for orange and yellow lantana blooms. Seasonal brooks with soft
grass banks tumble by. This door is a pretty mix of pink,
lavender and yellow gold. Yellow sidelights and teal pink trim
make it a door that you can hardly wait to open. The trim above
and below the door is emerald green.
Cerrillos Road is 1 1/2 x 1 and comes with the sterling silver
plated bail shown in the photo. It is layered on a deep dark
blue base. |

Palace Avenue
 |
Palace Avenue is 1 1/4 x 1 1/2. Beautiful
combinations of dichroic make this sparkle with light from
behind the blue door.
Go in and see a small fountain filled courtyard where there is a
little cafe. Croissants and lattes, and the smell of cinnamon
and vanilla fill the lazy afternoon here.
Layered on a black base, this pendant comes with the sterling
silver plate bail seen in the photo. |

Old Santa Fe Trail
 |
This is an old weathered double door. Layered
on a clear sea blue base, these doors open to a vine covered
courtyard that surrounds an old fire pit. Late in the evening as
temperatures drop in the Sangre de Cristo Mountains, piņon logs
are placed in the pit and the courtyard is turned into a magical
place filled with fading sunlight and the smell of piņon.
Old Santa Fe Trail is 2 x 1 1/4 and comes with the sterling
silver plate bail shown in the photo. |

Water Street
 |
Water Street was once a small river running
through town. Now it is a pretty tree lined street with old inns
and B & B's.
Water Street pendant is 2 x 1 1/2 and is a sparkling colorful
door. Many doors in Santa Fe are large, heavy wooden doors, but
once in awhile you will find an old door that has a beautiful
glass window insert. This one sparkles with yellow sunlight and
invites you into a courtyard filled with waterfalls and
songbirds.
Water Street comes with a sterling silver plate bail shown in
the photo. |
